COHORT

LEARNING COMMUNITY OF FAITH AND TRANSFORMATION: 9-MONTH PROCESS

After completing the online course, this is the next step to carrying out Effective Christian Ministry.

Together, over the course of 9-months, parish teams experience firsthand the Principles and Practices of ECM. The monthly activities are meant to help facilitate, by God’s grace, (1) personal spiritual growth, (2) team discernment, and (3) long-term parish ministry transformation.

BUILDING YOUR TEAM

Each Team is made up of 3–6 key ministry leaders and parishioners—people who are committed to working with and for the youth of their parish. For maximum impact, each Team should include a clergyman and a young adult.

All Team members must have completed the ECM online course before joining the Cohort.

WHAT TEAMS RECEIVE

3 online summits and 6 webinars
Presentations by a diverse group of clergy and lay ministry leaders
2 hours of reflective and applied practice per month
9 months of support from their coach and cohort
A one-year ministry plan
A trained ECM Coach for support and encouragement

If I could explain my experience with the ECM Cohort in one word, it would be "WOW''. This experience has been an eye-opening experience I will never forget. Not only am I learning how to properly minister to our youth and young adults, but I am also learning how to become a better Orthodox Christian. Is it a lot of work? Yes. Is it worth it? YES! EVERY parish needs to do this. I was born into this Faith and I have learned more about how to be a good Orthodox Christian in this cohort than I ever did in Sunday School and GOYA growing up.

PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS

Participants will meet 3-4 times a month for 9 months. Participants can expect a weekly time commitment of around 1-2 hours.
